Walks
Of all forms of exercise, brisk walking is the one that brings most of the body into action. In no other exercise do you get the same harmony of coordinating muscles and the same perfect circulation of blood. Vigorous aerobic exercise is vital to life- it speeds up the metabolism, burns fat and removes toxins stored in the body.
The Birchcreek “Jump Start Your Life” program includes guided, invigorating walks – the very best way to begin your day. Whatever your fitness level – from beginner to athlete – the daily morning walk is the way to wake up your metabolism and prepare the body for the adventures of the day!
Hikes
Depending on your choice of Birchcreek location, included in your stay with us is either guided trail hike in the mountains (in season) or a power beach hike. Build stamina and strength – whatever your fitness level. Our guests find our hikes physically invigorating and mentally satisfying. Hikes of varying degrees of difficulty are available for all exercise levels.
Stretch/Pilates/Yoga Classes
Strengthen your core, tighten abs, help prevent injury and promote flexibility in one of our stretch classes. All levels of fitness welcome and accommodated. Birchcreek offers a variety of classes for all fitness levels to increase your flexibility and strength; stretch flex and abs, strength and stretch, one-on-one, flexibility workshops, yoga stretch and Pilates style movement. Stretch classes are a favorite of most Birchcreek guests.
Cardio/Resistance Training
In addition to power walking and hiking, part of your daily activity at Birchcreek is a cardio class or resistance training. We offer rebounding (working out on mini trampolines), cardio boxing, interval training, polemetric resistance training and isometrics.
The perfect combination of cardio, strength, and resistance training along with a variety of stretch classes and power breathing creates a perfect environment for getting in shape or keeping fit!
