Secluded, quiet...conveniently accessibleArriving by car NYS Thruway, Exit 19 (from the north or south) From the tollbooths take the immediate right onto NY Route 28 West (toward Pine Hill) for a 36-mile drive through the mountains to the village of Pine Hill. Pass the entrance to Pine Hill (on your left), continuing on Route 28 and traveling up a hill. The Birchcreek entrance is 3/4 mile ahead on the right. Turn at the sign and travel slowly down the somewhat bumpy one way drive to the Retreat. Bear left at the end of the drive and check in at the main entrance on the right. Arriving by Train The Amtrak/Metro North train line stops at the Rhinecliff station which is approximately 1hr from the Retreat. Taxi service is available at the station or call our office to arrange for car service. Arriving by Bus Adirondack Trailways (800.776.7548) runs buses between NY city’s Port Authority and Pine Hill daily. This allows guests to complete the entire round trip from New York City via motor coach. Provide your arrival time in advance, and a member of staff will pick you up and bring you to the Retreat - complimentary. Arriving by Air FLy into either Albany International (ALB) (about 2hrs north) or Stewart International (SWF) (about 1.5 hrs south in Newburgh). From the airport you may either rent a car or arrange car service through our office. Guests flying into New York City via LaGuardia (LGA), JFK or Newark (EWR) airports can travel by rental car or private car service (please call our office to arrange in advance).
